OSRS 1 to 99 Slayer Guide

Did you know that players no longer grind their way to level 99 when it comes to combat skills? The reason is because of Slayer. Why simply level up when you can also make Runescape Gold while reaching the end goal?

Yes, you’ve heard it right. Slayer provides massive damage bonuses and unique training equipment. Focusing on Slayer to level up your combat stats is the way to go for better XP and OSRS GP. If that sounds good to you, let’s read through our guide to achieving level 99 Slayer.

First, consider your Combat level

Slayer assignments are closely related to your combat level. The master you speak to for a task focuses on your Combat level rather than your Slayer level. High combat means higher-tier Slayer assignments and more points.

Second, know your Slayer Masters

There are 9 Slayer Masters in OSRS. You can gradually climb the ladder by increasing your Combat stats. There are different perks and benefits depending on which Slayer Master you speak to.

Slayer Master Duradel is located in the Shilo Village. You need to complete the Shilo Village quest and have 50 Slayer + 100 Combat (or 99 Slayer) to approach him for a task.

Slayer Master Nieve is located in the Tree Gnome Stronghold. You’ll need 85 Combat or 99 Slayer to approach her for a task.

Slayer Master Konar Quo Maten is located in Mount Karuulm. You’ll need 75 Combat or 99 Slayer to approach him for a task.

Slayer Master Chaeldar is located in Zanaris. You need to complete the Lost City quest and have 70 Combat or 99 Slayer to approach him for a task.

Slayer Master Vannaka is located in the Edgeville Dungeon. You’ll need 40 Combat or 99 Slayer to approach him for a task.

Slayer Master Mazchna is located in Canifis. You need to complete the Priest in Peril quest and have 20 Combat or 99 Slayer to approach him for a task.

Slayer Master Spria is located in Draynor Village. You need to complete A Porcine of Interest quest to approach her for a task.

Slayer Master Turael is located in Burthorpe. There are no requirements to get a Slayer assignment from this master.

Slayer Master Krystilia is located in Edgeville. You need to complete at least 1 Slayer assignment from any master to approach her.

Level 1 to 25

Regardless of where your Combat level stands, we recommend approaching Krystilia to cover the early levels, as well as earn points for the Bigger & Bader perk. The perk occasionally spawns superior enemies when you’re on a task, and defeating them gives you a massive boost in Slayer XP. They also have valuable drops like the Imbued Hear and Eternal Gem. You can continue with Krystilia until level 50 to save a stockpile of points to purchase the necessary Slayer items.

Below 40

If your Combat level is low, then the best choice would be to head over to the Edgeville Dungeon and get a Slayer task from Master Vannaka. The assignments from him won’t require you to go into the Wilderness, which is good for a beginner. You’ll see yourself earning 4 Slayer points per task here.

Below 70

Now, once you’ve earned the Bigger & Bader perk, you got to see where your Combat level stands. If it’s under level 80, we recommend staying at Krystilia until you’re able to purchase a Slayer Ring or Block assignments.

If you’re above level 70 and have completed the Lost City quest, then head over to Zanaris and speak to Chaeldar. He rewards 10 Slayer points per task, with none of them requiring you to head into the dreadful Wilderness.

Level 85 to 99

Once you reach level 85 Slayer, switch your master to Nieve for future assignments. She is a far better choice than any master in terms of profit and XP. Also, truth be told, it depends on the tasks you enjoy completing.

Task Blocking

Task Blocking is a term referred to when you block a Slayer assignment so that a Master cannot assign it in the future. Make sure you’re at a higher level before blocking tasks because otherwise, it would just be a waste of points. Do it more for assignments given by Nieve and Duradel because some take a lot of time to complete.
